"It is the goal and responsibility of a social sciences education to promote civic awareness and to provide an understanding of the common threads of history that both unite our nation, and allow individuals and cultures to recognize and appreciate global diversity. Developing both a base of knowledge and an ability to analyze said knowledge while promoting the development of life-long learning, writing, and critical thinking skills remains of paramount importance in the social sciences curriculum. Towards that end, the KPRHS Department of History & Social Sciences seeks to advance and maintain student and community interest in all elements of the social sciences".
