The Plainville Choral Society was formed in 1999 for students in grades 4 – 6. Over the years the program grew to include students in grades 2 and 3. In the spring of every year, the PCS now opens its doors to students in the 1st grade. The PCS meets every Tuesday and Thursday morning prior to the start of the school day.
The Plainville Choral Society has two CD recordings, “Opus One” and “PCS v.2.0”. A music video is also included in the “PCS v.2.0” 2 disk set. The ensemble performs locally every Winter and Spring. Other recent performances include singing at the Worcester Centrum, The Wang Center, The State House, Providence Bruins, and the Hynes Convention Center. They also sang at a service for Dr. Martin Luther King and the Viet Nam Moving Wall Memorial.
Concerts set for the current season include a music benefit performance for the Blackstone/Millville School District on February 10th and the Spring Extravaganza on June 8th. The PCS also plans a joint venture with the KP Middle School Chorus during the day on June 8th. Additional information can be viewed on the PCS website .
