Recently, the Plainville Choral Society was honored to be invited to sing at the Inauguration of Deval Patrick.  The Choral Society was center stage on January 4, 2007 at the Boston Convention Center just prior to the black tie dinner.  Now the Choral Society prepares for its winter concert - "iConcert".  The PCS will be backed up by a 14 piece band made up of adults and a few KP students.  Their concert will be held at the KP Middle School on January 25th at 7PM.  The group will also record their 3rd CD that evening. In April, the Blackstone Millville Music Association has invited the Choral Society back to their stage for the second year in a row.  That performance will be on Friday April 13th.  Watch the official website for details of upcoming events - www.plainville.mec.edu/music/choral

King Philip Regional Elementary School Band 2006

Special congratulations to the newly formed King Philip Regional Elementary Honors Band Select Group. This group was brought together in December by the region’s elementary school instrumental music instructors: Tracy Salazar, of Wrentham; John Fouracre, of  Norfolk; and Donald Robinson, of Plainville . Auditions were held for interested elementary school students from the three towns, and rehearsals were set for Wednesday evenings at the Middle School. 

On Saturday morning, April 1, the band performed their music at the MICCA State Concert  Festival in Hopkinton, and came away with a gold medal. What an outstanding achievement for the thrilled students and their directors! The gold medal meant an invitation to perform at the Stars at Symphony performance venues. The band was chosen to perform a month later at Worcester ’s Mechanics Hall, where they regrouped and did a masterful job once again. Championship tee shirts were made up for the kids and proudly purchased by the KPMA.
