KPMA

King Philip Music Association

Committed to a Comprehensive Music Education Program

The King Philip Music Association (KPMA) is a non-profit organization affiliated with the King Philip Regional School District (Norfolk, Plainville & Wrentham). KPMA has been in existence for almost 20 years. Our mission is to create, organize and execute programs that allow us to raise funds to promote high quality music education for every student within the district.

KPMA advocates music education through a variety of efforts. We believe that music is a very basic element to the human experience. The study of music allows for the development of aesthetic sensitivity, self-expression and creativity. Through participation, it builds self-discipline, self-reliance and a strong sense of teamwork. By encouraging these values, music helps to build community, preserve and honor cultural heritages, and celebrate life.

The goals of the King Philip Music Association are to:
    1. Support the quality of music teaching and learning.
    2. Support high quality music experiences for students.
    3. Communicate the value and importance of music and music education.
    4. Maintain a vital, effective and efficient organization.
    5. Be a model non-profit organization for supporting music education statewide.

More Fundraising Opportunities:

JUNK CAR DONATION

Do you have a junk car or truck in your yard that needs to be disposed of or do you know someone who does? Then KPMA can come to the rescue and get rid of that vehicle for you! You will be making a donation to help KPMA and getting a tax deduction as well. It's simple and easy to do! Just email Carol Gerry (Click for email to open) for all the details.
KPMA is looking to expand this easy fundraiser. This can easily be administered at home with a minimum of time. We are seeking someone to promote this activity by developing a flyer or other promotional item.

Bottle and Can Fundraiser

KPMA collects redeemable cans and bottles (those you
pay a 5˘ deposit on at time of purchase) as a year round
fundraiser. Cans and bottles can be donated at one our
three drop off sites located in each KP district town.

In Wrentham, you’ll find the drop location in the garage
behind the High School. Look for the sign on the garage
bay nearest the football field. Drop your cans and bottles
through the opening in the garage door any day, any time.

We have a new shed in Plainville (2010) located on the
grounds of the new Wood School on Messenger Street. The
shed is next to the parking lot on the far right side of the
building and can also be used any day, any time.

In Norfolk, we use a trailer at the Norfolk Transfer
Station adjacent to the Goodwill boxes and the Town
Library book drop. You do not need to display a Transfer
Station decal to use any of the charitable donation
facilities. The trailer is accessible during normal Transfer
Station hours. Visit the Norfolk DPW website for current
hours: http://www.virtualnorfolk.org/public_documents/
norfolkma_highway/transfer
.

We accept all redeemable items. These containers have “MA
5˘” imprinted somewhere on them either on the aluminum
can top or on the bottle’s label. Note that iced tea,
lemonade, water and any other non-carbonated beverage
are not redeemable.

For glass bottles, we appreciate any original boxes you can
supply since we are required to pack all glass securely and
safely for transport to a redemption center.

In addition to container donations, we always welcome
new faces to help sort items. It’s a fun way to meet other
parents whose children share the same interest while
supporting your child’s school music program.

Contact Beth Strubeck at bdastrubeck@comcast.net if you have any questions or can volunteer to help with cans and bottles".

SAVE YOUR RETURNABLE BOTTLES AND CANS FOR KPMA, AND ENCOURAGE YOUR FRIENDS, RELATIVES, AND NEIGHBORS TO SAVE FOR KPMA, TOO!
