ENGINEERING 1 (Basic Design Technology)
Grades 9,10,11,12 Level 5
Credits
This engineering course is a full year
course with a strong emphasis on using AutoCAD as a tool. Students
will use computer aided design software to create multi-view drawing and isometric
views and they will master basic commands to produce technically correct engineering
drawings. Students will be introduced to Photoshop and other graphic
software as well as hands on engineering projects. This course must
be successfully completed before the more advanced courses Engineering II can
be taken.

ENGINEERING II (Design Technology1)
Grades 10,11,12 Level 5Credits
Engineering II builds on the knowledge
learned in the Engineering I course. Students create complex engineering drawings.
A hands on approach to AutoCAD, Photoshop and other
Graphic Software is featured throughout this course. New commands
in AutoCAD are learned and drawings are presented that test the student’s ability
to visualize. Students produce various types of sectional drawings and learn
proper AutoCAD dimensioning techniques. Students will create a
presentation using Multimedia software and many hands on complex
engineering projects.

Prerequisite: Engineering 1 (Basic
Design Technology)
ADVANCED ENGINEERING (Advanced Design
Technology)
This advanced course feature AutoCAD
as a communications and design tool. The technical phase of this course concentrates
on learning how to produce assembly drawings and three dimensional drawings.
The technical area of solid modeling is presented and software used in conjunction
with AutoCAD is introduced. This course allows students to specialize in one
of the many related areas of engineering and experiment with complex engineering
problems.
Students intensify their effort to provide
customization to AutoCad, 3D-Studio, PhotoShop and
other Design Software to provide a revolutionary approach to working
with solid geometry and solid meshing techniques.

TELEVISION PRODUCTION
This course is geared toward the management
and production of the Wake-Up-Warriors morning news program. The program is
designed to create school unity and spirit by acting as an effective communication
tool. It highlights student and faculty accomplishments, announces upcoming
activities and produces advertisements for clubs and organizations. Students
are involved in many aspects of television production, from idea formation to
the broadcasting of their work.
Students learn software programs such
as Premiere, PhotoShop and other Design
Software to enhance their video editing techniques.

ADVERTISING DESIGN
This course teaches students how to
strengthen their creative thinking and presentation skills through the development
of creative logos, brochures, displays and print campaigns - all of which are
designed specifically for our school and community. The students are responsible
for creating awareness about the many things happening at King Philip, as well
as highlighting the school's mission and expectations through the management
of the school's bulletin boards and display cases.
