LIBRARY-MEDIA CENTER POLICIES

Materials are selected based on the needs of the curriculum and general collection development. In most cases, materials are chosen based on recommendations by students, faculty members or the Library-Media Specialist. The Library-Media Specialist selects books which receive positive reviews in nationally recognized journals such as "School Library Journal", "Booklist" and others. Every effort is made to develop a balanced collection, appropriate in content, interest and reading level for the high school population.

Books may be borrowed for a period of two weeks, renewable twice. Under unusual circumstances, materials may be borrowed for a longer period of time.

Reference books, magazines and computer programs are not loaned.

Fines may be assessed at a rate of $0.10 per day per item with a maximum fine of $10.00.
