MySpace.com - They're always watching
These days, there are many things that are controversial. One of them is the online website called myspace.com. It is mostly used by teenagers all around the country. While it is entertaining to go from one person’s Myspace to another’s and exciting to get comments or friend requests, there is a flip side to that fun.

MySpace.com - Students seek freedom of expression
The world wide web is a place with limitless possibilities. From music to movies, sports to Sparknotes, the internet provides both knowledge and entertainment to millions of people around the world. A large percentage of these websurfers are teenagers, and many of them find solace in the different ways that they are able to vent their frustrations online. Various blogs including livejournal.com and myspace.com are places where people can express themselves freely without being judged or discriminated against. However, in the past few months, websites like these have become causes of concern within the King Philip administration.

The real-life horror of Hollywood films
In 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger starred as Ben Richards in Stepehen Kings’s action thriller The Running Man. You can now find the movie in any Science-Fiction section. The movie, like so many other movies from the 80s that were supposed to take place in the very distant future, took place in 2017, well within our lifetimes. The plot was simplistic. Arnie was wrongfully sentenced to death, but rather than a realistic death by injection, Arnie is forced to play a deadly game. Futuristic gladiators chase the convict through the space-age city streets trying to kill him. All the while an adoring, violence-loving audience watches the action live. While King may have overestimated our ability to create flying cars and ridiculous futuristic clothing, he may not have been far off from the direction that entertainment is heading towards in our society.

Discover the meaning of ‘eviality’
We’ve all done it. When we’re young and creative, and our tongues slip up over a seemingly simple word and we create a mixture of sounds that has never been heard before. Winkehstuppah? Where did that come from? I thought I asked ‘when’s supper!’ Then all we can think about is this amazing new word and our determination to use it in everyday speech. Wow, that homework was so winkehstuppah last night!

My word was eviality. I thought it was the absolute coolest word ever, and I laughed whenever Word’s spell-checker underlined it in red and tried to change it to a normal word like ‘equality’ because that only confirmed the fact that it was my word. It never meant anything, exactly, it was just there and interesting, like a good song that has special meaning only to the composer, unbeknownst to all others.

Resolutions have potential
As one year gradually turns into a new one, a specific topic traces the minds of many: New Year’s resolutions. They range from general to specific goals, from wanting to be happier in all aspects of life to learning how to ski. The question is: are New Year’s resolutions vital in starting a calendar year, or are they needless?

Some individuals live life as it progresses, without preparation. Although this is a useful philosophy in certain times, it is a weak attitude in the long run. By setting resolutions, one can maintain a balanced life without over-preparing if they prefer the lax viewpoint of “living life as it comes.” This alternative eliminates much stress due to life’s daily hassles and bigger dilemmas.
