Hi everyone,

As you can see by Mrs. Kreuzer’s email, I will be changing the grading policy going forward during our “Distance Learning” time.

I have created a Google Classroom for the students.  This is my first time using Google Classroom, so I hope that everything is working correctly.

My plan, going forward, is to post all the assignments at the beginning of each week.  I know that students work at different paces or are sharing devices.  For that reason, I will have assignments due by Saturday, but there will be worked assigned for most days.  Each student can decide what works for them as far as completing assignments is concerned.  I know that Distance Learning is new for everyone (including me!) so I will be flexible.  Please be sure to communicate with me if you are having trouble meeting the deadlines.

I will be posting a checklist for the week on the Google Classroom page as well as my Blackboard page.  All the materials will be available to the students on Google Classroom.  If your student is having difficulty finding the materials, please don’t hesitate to let me know.  In addition, if your student needs help with the concepts, please reach out to me.  I am checking my email on a regular basis.  Be assured, that I am here to help!!

    Stay safe and healthy,

    Mrs. McGovern

    Hello Students and Parents!

I hope that you are all safe and healthy during this unprecedented time.

I wanted to give you a list of recommended math topics and some websites to keep your math skills up-to-date!  Watching a video from Khan Academy and doing some practice problems every "school" day is a great way to keep your math skills sharp.  You should try to spend 10-15 mintues each day reviewing the concept list - try the quizzes that go along with the concept and watch the videos too!

You might choose Catch-Up Math to see where you might need some extra practice.

Practice of these concepts will help improve the basics of Algebra - solving equations, identifying rational numbers, and finding Slope.

This is optional list of concepts - These are not graded.  But they are a suggested list of concepts

I know that some of you may not have access to a computer or many not have time to look at any of these options.  These are suggested activities to keep you sharp and review important concepts.  Please do what is best for you and your family.

Please stay safe and healthy during this time.

If you have any questions, please email me.

    Thank you,

    Janice McGovern (mcgovernj@kingphilip.org)
