KP Drama & GAPS
COVID & the 2020 -2021 KP Theatre Season
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the safety regulations established by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and enforced by the Wrentham Board of Health, the KP Drama season has been restructured to be an on-line education program with no in-person rehearsals or scheduled performances for the 2020 - 2021 academic year. Should there be any changes to this status, notifications will be found here on this Web site and will be announced by the district via the Principal's Newsletter, district-wide e-mails, and district social media platforms.
We thank everyone for their support in the past and we ask everyone to continue your support for our students and their interest in the theatrical performing arts as we tackle the challenges of our present times. We look forward to bringing live theatre back to the King Philip District once it is safe for our students, staff and you, our supportive public.

Our Story
KP Drama produces and performs two to three plays each year. These include an annual holiday production or musical each December, a Spring production in May, and a periodic February senior-directed show. Our home is King Philip Regional High School's Richard K. Grady Theatre, where as many as fifty students both on stage and behind the scenes work for months to bring audiences such favourite holiday shows as A Christmas Carol and It's A Wonderful Life, musicals including Peter Pan & Little Shop of Horrors, entertaining comedies including You Can't Take It With You, immortal Shakespearean productions including Much Ado About Nothing & The Tempest, powerful dramas such as Inherit the Wind & The Diary of Anne Frank, and dark mysteries such as The Mousetrap & And Then There Were None. Additionally, our actors and technicians volunteer their time and expertise to assisting the annual Spring Musical at King Philip Middle School in Norfolk, MA.
Our dedicated technical theatre students are members of the Grady Auditorium Production Staff (GAPS). These students, as well as numerous alumni volunteers, design sets and build scenery for each show, create and implement lighting and audio designs, and provide operations support for all organizations and performing arts groups renting the theatre spaces of both the KPMS Auditorium and the Richard K. Grady Theatre at KPRHS.Persons interested in supporting these performing arts programs financially through donation and/or advertising or through volunteering should contact Ms. Melissa Taddeo at kpdrama@kingphilip.org for further information. You may also call us at 508-384-1000, Ext. 3461 Monday through Friday between 9 AM and 3 PM or FAX us at (508) 384-1006. Thank you for visiting and we hope to see YOU at our next show!
