You know the holiday season has finally arrived at King Philip High School when you walk into the library and recognize the festive KP Cares giving tree decorated with colorful paper ornaments.  Though this tree serves as the perfect holiday decoration, it has a purpose that many children and their families hold very close to their hearts.  Upon close examination of the tree, you can see that each paper ornament has an item written on it that has been requested by a child or teenager as a gift they hope to receive this Christmas.  Students can take an ornament and donate one of these items for each child or teen.

KP Cares has always done a phenomenal job organizing this event and keeping the privacy of each family.  In past years, students, faculty, sports teams, and clubs have all come together to ensure that every child was able to receive the perfect gift on their holiday morning by making a donation.  KP Cares wants to spread the idea of giving and being thankful during this hectic time of the year and give back to those in our community who may be less fortunate.  This important event, along many others, shows how the King Philip community is able to come together and give back to others- creating an unbreakable unity among us.

This year alone, KP Cares was able to give out 385 gifts to help 87 kids and 40 families.  We cannot thank the members of the King Philip community enough who were able to donate this year and make this holiday truly special for those in need.  We hope that this event can continue to grow in years to come and remind us of the true holiday spirit.
