NORFOLK — Superintendent Dr. Rich Drolet and Principal Nicole Bottomley are pleased to announce the hiring of Dr. Matthew Maré as assistant principal at King Philip Regional High School, effective Monday, July 27.
Dr. Maré comes to King Philip with over 15 years of experience in public education and school leadership to the position.
He has served as assistant principal of Charles S. Pierce Middle School in Milton since 2023. Prior to his time in Milton, Dr. Maré was assistant principal of Kevin M. Hurley Middle School in Seekonk for two years.
Before entering school administration, Dr. Maré spent much of his career as a social studies teacher in Seekonk Public Schools, where he co-founded the nonprofit Total Teacher Project, which hosted events to help educators build stronger connections with students.
Dr. Maré earned a doctorate in education from Northeastern University, a master’s degree in education from the University of Massachusetts, and a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
“I’m deeply grateful for this opportunity and look forward to joining the King Philip team,” said Dr. Maré. “As assistant principal, I look forward to empowering others and helping build a school community grounded in trust, authenticity, and positive relationships.”
Dr. Maré will serve as Assistant Principal working alongside Assistant Principals Karen Archambault and Jill Porier to support all students at King Philip Regional High School. He succeeds longtime Assistant Principal Kip Lewis.
