WRENTHAM — King Philip Regional High School closed the 2025 Fall Athletic Season on Friday night with the Football team completing an undefeated season and winning the MIAA Division III Super Bowl at Gillette Stadium.

The Warriors earned a 21-10 win over Hockomock league opponent North Attleborough to finish the year at 13-0 and claim their second state title in three years.

The team’s season was defined by strong play on both sides of the ball. The Warriors outscored opponents by a margin of 412-114, which includes Friday’s Super Bowl game.

King Philip continues to be one of the most successful football programs in the state.

The Warriors were led by six senior captains: Brodie McDonald, Kyle Danson, Nate Crisci, Liam King, Tallan King, and Ryan Greenwood. The coaching staff is led by four-time Super Bowl Champion Brian Lee.

“Our coaches are critical to the success of our programs and Coach Lee does a great job of teaching the game of football and life lessons that build character and great community members,” said Athletic Director Gary Brown. “We are incredibly proud of all our student-athletes and coaches. We are all extremely proud to see all their sacrifices rewarded with the football program’s fourth state championship.”

The Super Bowl win came after a strong finish to the regular season. KP defeated rival Franklin 49-19 on Thanksgiving, giving the Warriors eight wins in the past ten Thanksgiving Day games.

“Our football squad is composed of individuals who come together as a team,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Rich Drolet. “Our players are very talented, but they are even more disciplined, hard-working, and selfless. Coach Lee and our entire coaching staff lead our football team with determination and grit. They teach our student-athletes how to develop skills, persevere, work hard towards a goal, and also to respect the opponent and the game.”

KPHS Principal Nicole Bottomley added, “The entire school and community are incredibly proud of the accomplishments of our student athletes, coaches, and staff.”

King Philip athletics saw success throughout the Fall season, with many team and individual achievements. Football, Girls Cross Country, and Golf all won Kelley Rex titles. Cross Country earned the program’s first league title in 25 years and received the Hockomock League Sportsmanship Award.

Three teams reached the MIAA Final Four in their respective sports: Girls Soccer, Volleyball, and Football.

Twenty-five KP student-athletes were selected as Hockomock League All Stars this Fall. Two were named league MVPs: Keegan Canto was awarded the Kelley Rex Football Offensive MVP award, and Evan Regan earned MVP for the Kelley Rex Golf division.

“We are extremely proud of the accomplishments of our student-athletes,” said Athletic Director Brown. “The lessons gained through athletics, including teamwork and sportsmanship, help shape the students who represent King Philip as Warriors.”
